Is Genjutsu AI free? No — here is what it costs

There is no free tier and no free credits at sign-up: every render runs on a paid video model, billed to us per second. The cheapest way in is a small trial pack that covers a real render — and you can browse every example and prompt without paying anything.

  • $4.99 is the smallest purchase — one-time, nothing renews
  • The exact credit cost is shown before you render
  • Failed renders are refunded; an unused pack is refundable for 7 days

Why there is no free tier

Genjutsu is a video-to-video model: it re-renders every frame of the clip you give it. Each second rendered is a paid model run, and the provider bills us for it whether or not you ever buy a pack afterwards. A free tier would mean paying for renders that nobody is asked to cover.

One common way around that is to put a weaker model behind the free button and keep the name. We do not do that. Pro mode runs Higgsfield’s Genjutsu model; the cheaper Standard mode is labelled with the models it runs (Kling O3 and FLUX.3 Edit). You pay only for the seconds you render.

What we do instead is keep the smallest purchase small, show the exact credit cost before you press Generate, refund failed renders automatically, and refund an unused pack within 7 days. $4.99 is the most you can lose finding out whether Genjutsu does what you need.

What the $4.99 trial pack covers

The trial pack is 300 credits. Credits are charged per second of your clip, rounded up to the next full second. This is what 300 credits buys on a 5-second clip at 480p.

Clips can be as short as 4 seconds: a 4-second Pro Swap at 480p costs 200 credits. Standard Swap and Motion transfer need a source clip of at least 720p.

What you can do without paying

You can judge the quality, learn the prompts and check the price before you spend anything.

  • Watch real renders

The example library shows before-and-after videos with the source clip, reference image, prompt and model behind each one — including what the cheaper Standard mode looks like next to Pro.

    Open the example library
  • Copy the prompts

More than 40 prompts sorted by effect and use, plus the formula for writing your own. A good prompt is the cheapest way to avoid paying for a retry.

  • See the price first

Load a clip in the editor and the Generate button shows the exact credit cost for your clip length, effect and resolution. Nothing is charged until you press it.

Make the $4.99 go further

Most of the cost is seconds of video, so the savings are all in how much you render.

  • Trim the clip to the part you need. The editor can trim and convert in your browser before upload, and every second you cut is a second you do not pay for.
  • Try the idea in Standard first. Standard Swap is 25 credits a second and Standard Restyle is 10, against 50 and 60 in Pro. Move to Pro when you know the shot works.
  • Stay at 480p while you iterate. 720p costs twice as much per second in Pro.
  • Start from an example. Recreate loads the original clip, reference image, prompt and model for you, so you do not pay for guesses.
  • Credits last 365 days. A pack bought for one clip this week still covers the next one next month.

Genjutsu AI free: questions

  • No. There is no free tier and no free credits at sign-up, because every render runs on a paid video model. The cheapest way to try it is the $4.99 trial pack: 300 credits, enough for one 5-second Pro (Genjutsu) render at 480p or two 5-second Standard Swaps.

  • There is no free trial. The $4.99 trial pack is a one-time purchase, not a trial that turns into a subscription: nothing renews. If you have not used any of its credits, it can be refunded within 7 days of purchase.

  • Genjutsu is Higgsfield’s model and its availability depends on Higgsfield’s own plans, which change. This site is independent and is not affiliated with Higgsfield. Here, Pro mode runs the Genjutsu model and is paid per second with one-time credit packs.

  • You can browse the example library, copy prompts from the prompt library and see the exact credit cost for your own clip in the editor without paying. Rendering a video needs credits.

  • A 5-second clip at 480p costs 250 credits in Pro for Swap and Motion transfer, 300 for Restyle, and 125 or 50 credits in Standard. One credit costs 1.4–1.7 cents depending on the pack.

  • No. Failed renders, provider moderation blocks and confirmed cancellations return their credits automatically. A completed render is charged even if the result is not what you pictured; see the Refund Policy.

  • Pack credits are valid for 365 days from purchase. Nothing resets at the end of a month.
